East Coast Swing is characterized by a triple-step lilting rhythm (1&a2, 3&a4...) ranging anywhere from 90 to 160 beats per minute (BPM), although the high-end tempos are often done as a double-step rather than a triple-step rhythm. The most common form of East Coast Swing is Country swing.
